Dr. ( Lt. Gen.) B.S. Rathore

Dr. (Lt Gen) Bhagirath Singh Rathore, AVSM, VSM having graduated (1972) from SMS
Medical College, Jaipur, joined Armed Forces Medical Service where he served for
about 39 years. He did his post graduation from AFMC Pune and during initial phase
of service was in various Military and Air Force Hospitals across the country as
Specialist and Advisor in Dermato-Venereology. He has been post-graduate teacher
and guide to many students who are specialist in their field in defence and civil
setup. He served in Integrated Headquarters of Defence (Navy) as Principal Director
Medical Services (Personnel & Management) and later as Major General (Medical) in
a Command Headquarters & as Additional Director General (Human Resources) AFMS.
Prior to his retirement in 2010 he served as Director General (Organisation & Personnel)
Armed Forces Medical Services
Dr. Rathore has several scientic papers to his credit. He has been awarded “Commendations”
by Chief of Army Staff and twice by Army Commander. He was awarded “Vishisht Seva
Medal” (2007) and “Ati Vishisht Seva Medal” ( 2011) by Hon’ble President of India.
