INFORMATION FOR THE OVERSEAS STUDENTS |

INTRODUCTION
Swami Vivekanand Subharti University has been established by the Government of the
Indian State of Uttar Pradesh in the National Capital Region. The University is
located in the city of Meerut, only 60 kms south west of New Delhi, the national
capital of India. The campus of the University, which is spread over 200 acres of
land, can rightfully boast of magnificent buildings, lush green lawns and an atmosphere
vibrant with academic and cultural activities. The University has already been playing
a significant role in transmission of knowledge to Indian students and scholars
in various fields of higher education. Now the University is extending its cooperation
and friendship towards students of other developing countries also, where more facilities
for higher studies and research are required, by way of providing high quality but
inexpensive education meeting upto global standards, to overseas students from such
countries.

ELIGIBILITY AND ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Generally, twelve years of successful schooling is a prerequisite for admission
in under-graduate degree, diploma and certificate courses. For post-graduate degree
and diploma courses, an under-graduate degree is the prerequisite for admission.
For some of the courses, the applicants may be required to appear for an entrance
test, which shall be organized with prior intimation to the applicants. Applications
are required to be submitted in the prescribed form, which can be downloaded from
the website www.subharti.org. The application should be submitted along with the
required documents and application fee, as mentioned in the prospectus, which can
be seen on the website.

FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS Applications should be submitted through and recommended by the Indian High Commission/Embassy. The admission in some of the medical courses shall be subject to grant of a ‘no objection certificate’ in individual cases by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. The last date for receiving applications for the medical college session starting in July, is 31st May, . For other courses, the last date is 30th June, extendable till 31st July with late fees. The University shall make every effort to accommodate eligible overseas applicants in all the courses, provided their applications are received within time.

DISTANCE EDUCATION An overseas student, who is not in a position to attend classes regularly, has the option to enroll himself for learning through distance education, in which study material will be made available at the doorstep of the student and he/she will be required to attend the University only once in a year for a month for personal contact programme and examination. The degree awarded after completion of the course through distance education is at par in all respect with the degree awarded to regular students.
