Subharti is the manifestation of the ideas of a visionary Dr.
Atul Krishna, a noted surgeon of Western Uttar Pradesh. The endevour to make the university
at par with any other university nationally as well as internationally has gained momentum under the
presidentship of Dr. Mukti Bhatnagar, a reputed physician and Medical Imaging
Specialist.
BRIEF HISTORY
Way back in 1960’s children of professors of Meerut College residing in
a small colony, known as Professors Colony, Victoria Park, formed a cultural group
known as Baccha party. The activities were to arrange cultural
functions and celebrate National Days like Independence Day, Republic Day etc. The
name of Baccha party soon changed to Subharti Bal Sanstha. Atul
Bhatnagar, son of a noted economist and professor of Meerut university, Prof. Dr. K. K. Bhatnagar, was the
pogenitor as well as the leader of the Sanstha. As Atul Bhatnagar and his teenage subhartians grew in age and reached the adolescent
age he changed the name of Subharti Bal Sanstha to Yuva Uthan Samiti.
Atul Bhatnagar got selected in the MBBS course through Combined Pre-Medical Entrance
Test of Uttar Pradesh and joined Lala Lajpat Rai Medical College Meerut, in 1971.
In 1974, while he was a 4th year student, he completely overhauled Subharti Yuva Uthan
Samiti from just a cultural organization into a social service organization having
service and nationalism in addition to cultural activities as its motto. The name
was also changed from Yuva Uthan Samiti to Subharti Seva Sanstha.
This has become one of the most active and effective social service organizations of the country
today. Later on several sister organization of Subharti Seva Sanstha were established
by Dr. Atul Bhatnagar for different and specific purposes, which are working with the same zeal, passion, and mission for the
phrase of"Vasudheivaya Kutumbhakam & "One Family, One Nation"
BACKGROUND
The organization took the form of a social service Non Goverment Organization in
1974. The organization in addition to other social works used to arrange Medical
Aid Camps in villages by tacking doctors with them, to provide free medical care
to villagers at their door step.
It was registerd as a Social Service Organization with the Registrar of Societies
UP, under the name and style of Subharti Sewa Sanstha in 1978. Social service in
various ways and generating feeling of national unity had been its main objectives.

Subharti K.K.B. Charitable Trust was established in 1991,by Smt. Rajwati Bhatnagar in the memory of her husband, (Late) Prof.
Dr. K. K. Bhatnagar. Various educational institutions & service centres have been established under the banner of the Trust.
