Events Held in C.S.S.H in month of June 2011
Department of Ophthalmology
N.P.C.B (National Programme for Control of Blindness) – Thirteen free eye
camps were held at different block of Meerut and Baghpat district on every Monday,
Tuesday and Wednesday by eye Department of Subharti Hospital in month of June 2011.
Total six hundred forty one patients were examined and thirty six were operated
for cataract.
EYE BANK – Subharti Hospital is an active member of Eye Bank Association
of India since 16 August 2008. We are running an active licenced Eye Bank since
29th July 2009. We are also running the hospital cornea retrieval programme
(CRP) in which we approach the diseased person’s relatives to motivate them for
eye donation. We are doing free keratoplasties (cornea transplantation) to the needful.
Department of Blood Bank
CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI SUBHARTI BLOOD BANK – Two voluntary blood donation camp
were held in month of June 2011. Total one hundred thirty three units of blood were
collected. Three hundred sixty nine units of blood were collected from replacement
donors and four hundred ninty units of blood and blood product were issued to patients.
IMPORTANT POINTS REGARDING BLOOD BANK OF C.S.S. HOSPITAL –
(a) This is only blood bank in Meerut to have 90% components preparation.
(b) First blood bank in Meerut to start leukodepletion of PRBC with integrated filter.

INTEGRATED COUNSELLING TESTING CENTRE (ICTC) – Integrated Counseling Testing
Centre for HIV is running in Subharti Medical College from Januay 2009. (Approved
by UPSACS & NACO vide letter no:AIDS Society/ICTC/PD/68487 dated 20/10/08)
We conduct HIV testing for the voluntary (client initiated) & Referred (Provider
initiated) cases as per NACO guidelines. Strict confidentiality is maintained right
from the counseling to the final dispatch of report.
We also focus on “Prevention of parent to child transmission” (PPTCT) by conduction
voluntary ANC screening for HIV. While performing counseling, we also emphasize
on identifying the cases of HIV-TB coinfection & STD’s, so these can be managed
at their earliest.

Department of Respiratory Medicine
REVISED NATIONAL TUBERCULOSIS CONTROL PROGRAMME – Total 138 patients were
examined out of which 27 patients were found positive. Out of 27 patients, 06 patients
put on DOTS, 15 patients referred out of District and 06 patients referred with
in District in the month of June 2011.
Miscellaneous
Following amendments is suggested in present website of Subharti Hospital –
1. For Medical Superintendent Dr. D.C. Saxena read Senior Medical Superintendent
Dr. D.C. Saxena.
2. For 11 Major Operation Theatre read 12 Major Operation Theatre.
3. For 800 beds read 740 beds.
